World Affairs Conference


The Conference of World Affairs (CWA) Week is a festival of ideas featuring 200 panels, 100 speakers and performers, over 5 days, attracting more than 70,000 in cumulative attendance each year. There was also a CWA Speaker Series where thought leaders in their field join us for a campus visit with an evening discussion open to all.

The event is held on the CU Boulder campus, although CU Denver joined in through live stream! The event is held yearly on the Boulder campus, so if you missed it, you will have another chance next fall.


Women in Leadership Conference

WLC2018The Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC) is a one-day, tri-institutional event coordinated and implemented by organizers from across the Auraria campus. In its 22nd year, the WLC is intended to address the relationship between gender and leadership, specifically taking on the challenges of leading as a member of a historically marginalized gender identity group.

The Conference featured speakers Faith Spotted Eagle and Bianca Williams. With performance by Scatter Their Own. Students, faculty. and Staff broke out throughout the day into Identity-based Caucuses and breakout sessions on Humble Allies, Language of Leadership, Disrupting the Cisheteropatriarchy, and Breaking the Binary.

ROOT Magazine is an annual publication produced by students in the landscape architecture program at CU Denver. This unique, student-led publication is now entering it’s 10th year and has produced and distributed more than 3,000 copies of the magazine!

The magazine release party celebrates the team’s hard work and invites in the entire CU Denver Community to celebrate. The event has grown each year and includes, music, food, and copies of the latest magazine for all attendees.
